According to the catalog the waiting period for the model 9 and 10 is about 6-8 weeks. It seems the Tri-athlete and tailer models would be about the same. Does anyone know for sure?

The Tailor model that I saw a picture of was a very straight, simple blade. It appeared to made from the same stock that the model 10's are made from. Being, 1/8" x 1" stainless steel bar stock. It had a very straight cutting edge looking to be about 2 inches or so long and angleing to form an acute and sharp tip. The handle, if you want to call it that, was straight bar stock without contour or form. It looked like a number 11 xacto blade on steroids. The tool was sheathed in a simple leather slip. I would imagine this cutting tool is very popular with professional tailors in the modeling of clothes and hence the name. I think it would be a perfect cutting tool for the backpack or tackle box.

You speak of stock removal ATS-34 blades, so I ask...

Why in the heck would you pay those types of dollars for those types of blades?

Yes, the #10 is a specialized RMK...and as we're collecting 'one of each' we 'needed' one...but the only freaking way I could justify the purchase was to buy a JRB sheathed 'Jack Crider Special'...

Same story with the #9, JRB sheath and a letter...I think we paid $200 for the two...

A Tailors knife, or Tri-Athlete...paying RMK dollars for a stock removal sharpened bit of steel with no handle/hilt/pommel?

I just don't 'get it'...
