I ordered a new evenheat, a very big (for me) order of steel from njsb, and belts and enough sandpaper to last all year.

The oven was out of stock so it will be weeks before I get it, no tracking info on the steel yet.

I also called Kelly Cupples and ordered some parks 50 but no invoice yet.

Waiting sucks.
 
Do what I do and order stuff every day so you forget everything you've ordered.

Kelly's the best, probably you'll get that Parks before you even get the invoice...
If you get steel from him, shipping is also free if more than $100 spent.
Seems though that Maxim Oil in Texas would be closer for shipping, on the Parks?

Obviously those are all moot points! But that stuff will get there before you know it.
 
Which model Evenheat did you order? I am seriously thinking about ordering and since they seem to be drop shipped from the manufacurer, I am wondering if the seller estimates are all wrong.

Are maxim and heatbath the same? If so I called them first and they said all 5 gal purchases go through Kelly now . When I spoke with him he was driving and said basically what you said, he would get it sent out then send an invoice, I assumed he ment an email invoice though and I would see it first.
 
Kelly's pretty old school! I get a paper invoice from him, and pay by money order!
Maxim is a Heathbath distributor. Interesting that Kelly now distributes 5 gallon orders rather than Maxim... good to know.

Old school is fine with me. I knew he sold powdered steel does he sell other stuff too?

Thanks Salem, have you used any of his 1075?

I probably won't be ordering any steel for awhile but I may try some of his 1075 and 1080 when I need to make another order. He does seem like a good guy.
 
I've not tried the 1075, the only reason I'd buy that is if it had very low manganese, for hamon... I'm not sure what the makeup is on his 1075 but I use W2 for hamon stuff anyway.
 
I'm in the same boat, today I just ordered a variable speed KMG-PL as well as a bunch of belts from trugrit. The waiting is painfull.
