Do you have to convex a waki? Would a normal edge be good enough?

Mine would shave arm hair right out of the box.

Good enough for most, but convex is just a little bit better in many peoples opinion.

The waki is nice in that the profile is convex even though the edge is a v-grind.

Well the reason I ask is because I'm getting a Waki and I don't know how to convex. I'm wondering if just a regular sharpening and stropping would be enough when it gets dull.

I apologize, I don't mean to thread-jack, but are there plans to continue production of the Waki? I would like to order one, but the site says orders are closed?

He said he had a few folks cancel and hasn't heard from others, might not be too late.

That said, this is already the second run of them, I thing they are planning this to be the end, and are moving on.
