Is that an Eagle Universal rig?

How do you like it?

Yeah, that's the eagle/SKD universal rig.

I have used quite a few chest rigs quite extensively, from the tactical tailor MAV to the SKD, to plate carriers etc... The eagle rig has everything I need, I use it to hold mags, a multi tool and a light. I don't need a ton of pouches, it's perfect.

Best value out there as well.

I also like it as I like to wear the rig lower than a lot of allow -

Pardon the pic, it was a joke pic for another forum (pardon my mag placement as well).

I hate having the rig very high up, it slows my retrieval with how i've trained to grab them, especially when I work my way towards the center. I also don't train with a drop leg rig, but a hip serpa, and the rig does not get in the way.

Thanks, I was actually considering the MAV as well. I like the way the Eagle looks though, and the price is definitely right.

Oh, and the obligatory "Nice shirt!"
:D

I forgot that Wakis were supposed to be pretty so I just beat the hell out of mine. This ain't no wall hanger!!!

Of course get one! Then get an AK later.

I have mine on my wall. lol.. but it is a blast to pull down and abuse when I want to.

I want a "break in case of Zombies" case for it.

Reasonable.

I've used my waki more than the AKs or the Rucks. Good balance, knife edge, excellent performance. I've done brush clearing, bamboo bashing, and even some limbing with it.

Sadly, haven't had a bad swing and bashed the edge on rocks or screws yet, so I can't report how easy it is to repair the edge.

But, with time ... ;)

You should be able to get an AK (combat grade) for close to the original price. We're in the Great Recession and I'm sure somebody will help you out.:)

Better chopper than say, an NMFBM?

Not better. Different.

Waki is pretty light. You can get a nice, long swing and lots of leverage ... good for lighter cutting (very easy to use, no tiring).

NMFBM is solid and powerful. Not too long, but with plenty of weight in the right place. It can be tiring to swing, but can get the job done quickly ... good for heavier chopping/cutting/dismembering. Not a bad axe substitute.

damn 230, you got some bigg -azz guns... you look like you could snap trees and uproot sequoias with your bare hands.....lol
That one arm is like the size of my leg

For the quality of the Waki and considering the prices of some of the more pretty looking high quality Japanese swords, I would consider the Waki a Spartan no frills, premium quality value.

I will say though, that it could either be sharper or the edge geometry a little better. From the factory, my SAR8 outchops it pretty handily, so that says something. Should be no contest for the Waki.

The waki is a preorder. Check out the swamp rat forum on bladeforums for the details on how to order through email.

Last time I looked the preorder was over and they were selling the unclaiimed blades on the Swamp Rat site. But those are all gone now.

Then you haven't looked recently enough. Eric just re-opened a second batch of preorders.

Darn him. I thought I was going to get past this one just buying three. But now I think I need one in black with black/tan G10. And maybe another in black and sage.
