Wakizashi

nice activity ! my juices are flowing to make something japanese-ish soon due to the great threads posted lately.

Thanks guys! The videos aren't uploading with very nice quality. I'll take actual pictures when I'm done. Woodster, it's a lot of work but well worth it...you certainly do need to try!

705, I'm completely ignorant about Japanese swords, but what I see looks pretty nice to me---is your dog on that floor unconscious?? Just curious...

From what I can see in the photos, it looks really nice. I like the O-kissaki.

Is that a hardened spine I see as well?

Yes it is...it's like the very peak hardened and it has some deeper patches...really cool in person! Thanks a lot!

That's better .Indirect or reflected light is always better for shiney things. Then the next step is to polish everything by hand to get some nice detail at the edge of the hamon !! like they do in Japan.

Thanks man! It sure is trick! That's what I'm doing now...we'll sort of. I'm using a combination of lemon juice etching and flitz and pumice to bring out the ashi and make the hamon white [emoji16]
