Wal-Mart and Natives...

So, specifically because I have a gift card at Wal-Mart, I finally ordered a Native from them, as I have wanted one for a really long time and have just had other financial obligations. Additionally, every time I have looked, they are out of stock.

When I got my gift card last month, I looked, and sure enough it said "In Stock", so I pulled the trigger and ordered one. Three days later, I got a message saying they were out of stock, which bummed me out.

Long story short, I kept my order open with Wal-mart but want to know if Spyderco is even still supplying Wal-mart with Natives? I don't mind waiting if they are, but it is sort of pointless if they are not.

Darn it, I have wanted a Native for a long, long time, and I hope I am not going to get let down again:(

Too bad, it was a good price. I got my Cara Cara G10 from them. Considering the Site to Store shipping was free (and a Walmart is about 5 miles from me), it saved me $5+ s/h compared to most online sites. I noticed they recently added the Tenacious and Meadowlark to their site too. Might pull the trigger on that $30 Tenacious...

balls, balls, balls. I don't know why it has been so gosh dang hard to get my hands on a Native. It's not expensive, every other person on the planet seems to have one, and the biggest retailer on earth just happens to run out of them right when I order one. Dammit, I want my Native!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have had them listed as in stock, but my order is still processing. I guess I will keep it open until they tell me it is pointless to do so....

Interestingly, after a exchange of about three emails with Walmart today, I finally got confirmation that my native is in stock and will arrive by Friday of next week. A little frustrating, but at least I know now that it is on it's way! I can hardly wait for this quest to be completed!!!!

There not that exciting. I have one and EDC it. But I want a Caly 3 (I think that's the model), in Carbon Fiber. It's like the Native with same size and shape blade. But has a full convex grind all the way to the spine. An even better slicer. The Native works for now.

Caly 3, convex, are you sure?

It's neither convex nor concave; it's flat.

That's what I thought, kind of a bummer its not though.

Last week I got my son a Native at out local WallyWorld. They had 8 Natives in stock. I was tempted to snag all of them.

When they sold them at our Walmart here, I should have bought one, but I didn't. My buddy did, and I really liked his, but by the time I went down to the store to get one, they were all gone, evidently never to be sold at our Wal-Mart again!

Thanks for the offer, but the knife is on it's way, finally. If it weren't, I would very likely take you up on whatever offer you had, lol!

Good call on the native...
But I am so , so , sorry... that you got a wal-mart gift card as a present.. I feel your pain..:p

I made sure I got My son, my stepson, and I, all a Native from Wal-mart before they run out. :D I don't like having to go to Wal-mart, but they were selling something I wanted that was mostly made in America at a low price.

Good to see you, Timbo.

I've carried the Native far more than anything else in the last 10 years. I even used my OIF version on a couple of fire mission in OEF. I think you'll love yours.

i've noticed that the Wal-Mart natives are around $40 and a Native you get at an outdoor/gun/knife brick and mortar store is about $80. Since wallyworld doesn't list details like blade steel, i imagine the price difference is a combination of lower overhead, cheaper steel... are the Wally Natives VG-10? 154?

Nope they are high quality S30V steel. This is the best knife deal going. It is the exact same knife that Sypderco sells http://spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=20
