Every now and then in the hunt for vintage traditionals you find a knife that just knocks your socks off when you take it from the shipping box. This Walden Knife Co is one of those.

Large, thick, 4 1/16", beautiful ebony, full blades, great swedges, bear trap snaps, just a great example of late 19th early 20th Century American cutlery.

That's a ton of nice steel, right there!!

Can you compare the thickness with a "regular" jack for us, John?

Very nice condition for a knife plus one hundred in age. Not used much by the look of it........Fabulous find!

Thank you everyone. Charlie, great idea, I will take some more pictures tomorrow, it is pretty impressive next to a standard sized jack.

Knock your socks off?
My goodness man! That is such a Stunning knife in every way - you know..... Sometimes I say that Peach Seed - Red Bone and Stag are the best- and often I forget just how much I love Ebony- and a post like just reminds me how amazing Enony is on a knife like this.

That beautiful Walden Jack is a stunning Jack.
Augie- I am almost getting sick and tired of telling you just how nice your knives are lol- well not really- so please keep them coming.
Is it me? But when these big old Jacks get so Big- they get better ?

I'm guessing that's about the length of a Case Trapper. Somewhat larger around though. It is a fine looking knife and sure you'll get a lot of good use out of it.

Thanks again everyone, here are a few pics comparing it to an old Electric Cut Co jack and a new Great Eastern 77 which is a fairly large jack in its own right.

Look at the blade width on that beast! That knife was built for serious work. Very cool.

Thanks Bob, you aren't kidding, would love to see GEC build a knife just like this, bet it would be awesome.
