Has anyone delt with a bladesmith by the name of Wali Muhammad out of Washington state?
He is offering some very nice prices on what looks to be some nice knives ... But something seems "off" with him
Thanks for any feedback

After more questioning I found out that he is in Pakistan.
One of the initial pictures that he sent me, I recognized as a fallen oak blade .. but it seems he was just sending images of designs that he can pattern after

I went and looked at his Facebook profile. It's all typical imported, likely Pakistani made, pattern welded blades and knives. He says he lives in Bremerton and is a student of the bladesmithing- I bet the first, and likely the second statement, is not true. Certainly he is if not outright saying he makes everything personally, he allows all visitors to the page to assume that.
I was able to find the exact same knife from his Facebook page, for sale at another importer's website, who had also claimed to make it, but at least admitting to importing some thing from Pakistan.

These guys are getting pretty good with the subterfuge- claiming that they use 15n20/1095, rockwell test everything to 58-60 etc. IDK, maybe some do, but I'm sure 95% of it is BS. They are making in some cases, attractive knives (at least in a picture) but who knows what they're made of and the F&F is often abysmal in the hand. They are really pretending to be something they are not...

When you see pattern welded blades selling for that cheap in such profusion, it's not a first-world maker putting it out. The maths simply do not add up.
