Since it was 73 degrees here today, I decided to take some time out of the shop to do a short four mile walk in the forest preserve near our home with my wife.

Here`s the entrance to the preserve

Here`s the bike path you take to get to the trails

Thanks for looking.

Wow John, you have some nice woods there. I like the picture with you sitting on the log. Looks like a real autum. Is that a Vic Soldier or Farmer? Those last two pics of the knives are nice!

Excellent pics John. I like that little blade. When you stick that SAK and fixed blade next to one another like that, you just know which one your hand is going to want to grab and use...I'm with bear also - those yellow leaves on the ground look really nice.

hey john, if i didn't know any better i would have guessed you were sneaking around in my backyard based on a couple of those photos...

especially the one with the tree on its side that you are sitting on, with all the maple everywhere...looks almost identical to a spot i can see from my back window here...

looks like a nice walk, and it sounds like a nice day. today was nice here too, i took advantage of it with a jaunt down the local "rails to trails" trail alongside the farmington river.

That`s my "always with me" Soldier. I didn`t think to grab the Farmer, it was a spur of the moment thing. One trail runs over 40 miles, it follows what used to be an old railroad right of way, some of the old W signs are still there. The one we were on runs about 7 miles.

Around me it still looks like an ugly California summer, dry!

Looks like a nice place to hike and spend the day. I wish I was walking today too, it was 65 here.

Those photos look especially nice to me today since we are receiving heavy snow and in the 30's in these Oregon mountains.

Wish I was there, today. Looks very nice.

:eek:Whoa. John does leave his garage.

Great pics john. Love the fall colors. All is changin here too.

Cool pics John, it looks almost the same as some of the places around Lincoln here that I hike from time to time.

great pics john... this is such a cool time of year for a stroll through the woods...

Good stuff- get ready for some colder weather this weekend though! 76 degrees today, supposed to be a high of 43 on Saturday.
