Took a short little stroll with the dogs today. The fall colours are starting to come in, but at this stage many more yellows than reds.

The sound of congregating starlings was almost defining. You can spot their black shapes in the trees in this shot. At one point they all took off in a huge thunder of flapping wings. Tried to take a picture but it didn't work out so well.

Oh and the obligatory EDC shot - that Wade necker, re-wrapped yet again. This time, I'm kind of digging it and it may stay like this for a while. A leather wrap with a good soaking of nikiwax for waterproofing. The wrap is doubled and the leather does give a nice feel to it.

Nice shots and nice colour, k. I think I'm going out tomorrow on a hike with Mrs. D-C. Maybe I can get some good shots, as well.

well shameless plug - but Siguy and Jimi Wade are the only ones I know of who do a scandi necker. Both of you keep pumping these things out because they just work!

Nice pics. Spent all day finishing up my honey-do tasks. Will be out among the color tomorrow.

looks like a fun hike. those starlings are about the most annoying bird i know of. they used to migrate by the hundreds and stop for about a week long rest in my yard. needless to say, that was a very loud week.
