I think someone used this name for a knife here a few days ago and I have to agree that it would apply to a smallish knife that someone would take on a hike or a camping trip. We have beat the name EDC like a government mule to the point that it could apply to almost every knife posted here, so thanks to whomever came up with this more descriptive name. :)

Forged from 52100
Heat treated in my Evenheat furnace to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain structure throughout the blade
Flat grind with forged texture on the flats
Professionally stabilized figured walnut handle
Distal tapered full tang
Notice the flat grind on the handle where the third and fourth fingers land. Very comfortable!
Overall length: 8 1/2 inches
Blade: 4 1/4 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry

Just adding my opinion that, while this is undeniably a cool knife, and EDC is overused to the point of being meaningless, the term "walkabout" made me think of a big-ass Crocodile Dundee behemoth.

We need to see more knives with good variety under this new genre…..walkabout knives. The possibilities are fun to think about or drool about.
