WALKING DEAD Season 4, Sunday 10-13-13

BTW.... Am I the only one who noticed that Daryl and his new friends are on the very same set of tracks as Rick, Michonne, and Carl? And that Tony (A.K.A. ~ Guy who got chocked out in an earlier episode and saw Rick hiding underneath the bed) is still alive and oh by the way.... Knows what Rick looks like! I think Joe knows it was Rick who killed one of his men in the bathroom of the house. (At least he will when the group catches up and Tony identifies Rick to Joe.)

No, I caught that, too, in the conversation between Joe (?) and Daryl as they were walking down the tracks.

I hope scary Mary has developed a better method of keeping people on her BBQ grill.
Black smoke will soon be rising at Terminus again. Look at all those toasted walkers that got away.
It's like a walking buffet....run up with a plate and slice off a hunk. I wonder what she uses for seasoning?

Ha, it didn't even occur to me until you said that, that this was the same group

Apparently I'm one of the few who thought last nights was boring again. And yes mono I watched the same episode you did.. Yes things happened, just not very exciting things..

Yeah, something is just not clicking with this half-season. It's almost like the writers and producers are just filling time until they can figure out how to get another main villain into place. The governor is gone. The killer virus is gone. Shane is gone. No one except Mag-Glen and Beth seem the least bit interested in getting the "band" back together (and the whole Beth thing went sideways, like she needed a vacation from the series to pursue her singing career or something).

It is like the story line is wandering around like the various groups are. Never having read the "graphic novel," it seriously makes me wonder if the writers can't figure out where to take the story, so they're just filling air-time. And "Terminus?" Com'on, really? I'd have set up an OP and watched it for at least a few days before marching in like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz... Barring that, as soon as I walked in and saw no people, I'd have backtracked out.

I dunno.... I just hope TWD isn't about to "jump the shark."

Right there with ya Bro!!! It's starting to get old hat now. Looking forward to the Game of Thrones.

The group needs to reunite at Terminus, then be challenged by Joe and his cronies. Daryl can work from inside the group of bad guys.;)

Wouldn't be much of a fight. Eight of them already reached Terminus and are well-armed. Not counting Daryl, Joe and his men are only Five in number. Plus, they're each out for themselves. They're not likely to fight as a well-disciplined squad if things get really hairy.

I'm just wondering which of the main characters will get sacrificed for the season finale.

I'm still betting those toasted walkers from last week's episode came from the moonshine house that Beth and Daryl burned down. Walkers are attracted to large roaring fires. Besides, cannibals wouldn't cook and eat rotted meat.

Now that scene with Joe sitting out on the porch of the house eating food from the tin-can makes sense. Going back a bit when Rick finally ended up wearing the Bomber jacket that he's known for in the comics. Sneaking up to the front of the house with his new Uzi. Getting ready to open fire when he sees Carl and Michonne coming back to the house. Then.... Lou (guy who Rick strangled to death in the bathroom) came back to life as a walker and Joe went inside to kill it. Producers wanted us to get a good look at Joe's face because later on, Joe's group meets up with Daryl.

Rick and the others get away, but didn't realize that Joe and his group are made up of trackers (just like Daryl). And they tracked Rick's escape to the R.R. tracks. Rick and the others will reach Terminus first. I'm just hoping it's not something lame where Mary convinces everyone to put their weapons into locked storage because they're safe at Terminus. (I sure as Hell wouldn't feel safe at a place where the main gate is unlocked and there are no armed guards on the look-out for walkers coming towards the place.) Would be very lame if Joe's group was the one to show up last, and the only one to be armed.

+1

Way too quiet.... gate unlocked.... no guards at the gate.... sign telling everyone to put up their weapons....

Sure, I'll just walk inside. Now I'm surrounded on three sides by walls that likely have snipers or shooters ready to mow everyone down. Now the actual residents of Terminus have plenty of new supplies, ammo, weapons, gear.... and fresh meat for their big-ass BBQ grill.

Surprised as Hell that Abraham wasn't like, "Perhaps we should scout the building from a distance, or send someone in as a representative. See if the residents are friendly." Nope! Instead it's all Eight of them just cautiously but steadily moving forward.... Including into that bottle-neck where they could easily get gunned down on three sides.

With regards to storyline:
The producers are missing a golden opportunity to inject new life into the show. Back to season 1, everyone was tested at the CDC and found to be infected. Well, most of Rick's group from Season 1 is dead now. We have characters introduced after the group's visit to the CDC (which for some bizarre reason was staffed by one dude, come on). Here's an idea.... One of them is actually immune! Pick a character, any character. Tyreese, Maggie, Beth, Sasha, Tara, etc. Or, introduce a new character whom we soon learn is immune! Walkers don't bite him. They don't even try. They treat him as if he's one of them. Why?....

Well, now you have an exciting season to introduce him, make his immunity known, and answer the question of "Why?"

That's a season's worth of content right there. Love the show. But that whole "Everyone is infected" thing is just B.S., piss poor writing. If it is a virus, you're going to have a very small percentage that is immune. And, a small percentage that gets infected, suffers through it, but ultimately recovers and now is immune. No clue why the show's producers won't introduce such a character! None!

I wonder if tv Eugene is like the comic Eugene? Tv Eugene apparently is a big online gaming nerd. I think Tv Eugene is a big bull shitter.

Anyone else notice his red hair blatantly peeking out of his mullet wig when he's sitting in the passenger seat of the mini-van, talking to her? They really couldn't have insisted he dye his hair black to match the wig?

The whole immunity thing would be too much like World War Z (the movie not the book), IMHO. The entire Beth & Daryl cemetery episode smelled of a trap, just like Terminus. Perhaps we will find her there.... Her captor might be linked to our hippie lady?....

As for the rest... Is this season slow? Yes. Without interest?... Heck no!!!! This is more about the individual characters hitting "rock bottom" moral wise. My GF dislikes most fantasy or sci-fi shows, yet she loves TWD. The reason why this show attracts so many people isn't the whole, silly, zombie thing. It's about human behavior when faced with total societal break down.

One excellent British show about that theme is "survivors" .... Global pandemic .....you can guess the rest ....

And "terminus" - like terminal, terminate, etc. Red Flag!!!

It simply means the end of a R.R. or other transportation route. Or, a station located at that point. Basically a specific type of terminal to make it clear that it's not just an ordinary station along the tracks.

The lettering that spells out "Terminus" was there before the outbreak took place. Though the large station itself was perhaps unused for quite awhile before civilization broke down.

I doubt it. More likely that the dude in the car who took Beth was the one stocking the shelves at the funeral home. It didn't look like a trap. Too much food left behind, the place was somewhat secure. Handful of dead bodies treated with respect.... I think someone was genuinely living there, and that Beth and Daryl just stumbled upon his safe haven while the dude was out collecting supplies. Hell, maybe he didn't kidnap Beth. Maybe he grabbed her and pulled her inside to save her from a Walker, but refused to stop and endanger himself. Just one possibility. Beth might actually be okay. We have no clue if the person who grabbed her is evil. (Heck, that one-eyed dog might have been his.)

As for the whole immunity thing, if it was done properly; it could work. No reason why it would be thought of as a World War Z movie rip-off. It's a virus. All viruses have carriers, those who are immune, or those who develop immunity after exposure to a virus.
