Recently I have had the chance to walk in some new woodswhere while some things were as familiar as ever some things were totally alien to me.

There were new trees like these huge Cottonwoods.

and these Honey Locusts, the blade on this knife is 6.3 inches long

Black Raspberries.

Lots of Mullberries.

And these flowers that look like Dandilions on steroids.

There were Squirrels much bigger than the grey squirrels we have at home.

Saw a few Coyotes but they were too quick for me to get them on film. Found lots of tracks though.

Of course there were some familiar signs like these Raccoon tracks.

and there were lots of deer. It was an interesting experience.

Never lean against a honey locust tree-
-unless you have a really bad itch!

Great pics- thanks for sharing!

Yep- Fox Squirrels. Big as cats and better tasting* (in my experience and opinion) than greys.

*Yeah, I know a lot of you would have just ended the sentence here. Haha. Very funny. :p

You eat cats

Do they taste like chicken too? :D

Great pics buddy, those thorns are pure evil eh !!!!!

I'm still loving that Breeden knife but can't help feeling that I'd like to see one without the choil so that the edge of the blade comes straight to the handle, it has a small guard so I can't see that this would be a problem....what are your thoughts ?

Hi Pitdog, Like the top knife in this pic

the bottom one is the knife that Mistwalker has now.

If you like or dislike choils either way they can be put in or not LOL

Nice shots Mistwalker. I prefer guardless thorns myself :D :D :D

Thanks. I don't mind the guards, lol, maybe it'll keep the thorns from going as deep.

Cool Pics, Very Cool knife too;) LOL

Bryan.

Glad you like it lol.

NOOOOOO!! Cat does NOT taste like chicken!

Mmmmmmmmmmmm....mulberries.

The Mullberries were great!!

Where were the pics taken?

Western Illinois

I know, Red Fox Squirrels, they are much bigger than the grey squirrels here at home.

Marion

Strong enough to puncture tires too!! Could be bad to run through a patch of them in the dark.

I've never had the Red Fox Squirrels, I have hunted Grey Fox Squirrels in southern Georgia and they were good.
Personally I think the worms in survival training were better than cat, it was my experience that it was tough, chew, and strong tasting...then again it was an older tom cat.
