Went out on a small adventure today in the cascade mountain range of Washington.
I have done this hike many times but it never gets old. Brought the ol bk2 out as well as a couple other toys as well. Just thought I would share some cool photos from this beautiful area.

Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. I really need to get to WA/OR, only 2 states West of the Mississippi I haven't seen. Looks like great country!

God I miss the mountains! Must get back to the Rockies soon

Lucky you, I wish there was a place with a real water fall here in Florida....

looks beautiful. do you have a book or online source you use to find hikes in Washington? or is it all tribal knowledge? for the life of me i can search for hours to find somewhere to go, only to find out that there is massive grey area as to whether or not you need a pass, or if it is currently open or whatnot.

there seems to be so much confusion and disorganization from every website, blog, reference, that i cannot make heads or tails of anything.

This hike is about 6 minutes from my house so this one is just a local knowledge thing however if you visit a ranger station you can get a map with hikes and service trails. All trail heads require a discovery pass which is a $30 annual fee:) enjoy

Washington intrigues me. It also continues to elude me which is crazy because it's been in the same place for awhile now. Great pix!

Ahh yes... Iv'e been there. Only complaint is the traffic... Very popular hike. So you live in Gold Bar?

I live just west of Gold Bar in a little place called Sultan. Ah yes I believe it is spelled Wallace Falls thank you I will edit the post:)

It is a popular hike but if you go early morning you have can have it all to yourself:)

Might be going to Barclay lake today slightly farther east in the mountains. If I head up there I will post some pictures as well, maybe some action shots of the fire making.

Is there a little campsite with cabins at the trail head? I think that's where my girlfriend and I stayed when we visited her friend. Nice area. Never actually did the falls hike though. We drove east a bit and did the iron goat trail. That's a nice and fairly easy hike if you haven't been.

amazing pics man! thank you for sharing... makes me want to get out in the woods right now! although here in FL its already hot as b@lls and as Oxide said, there are no (real) falls.

That's a really great area. My son and I hit that area up quite a bit. I have a few pictures of the Wallace Falls area on Photobucket so I thought I'd contribute to your post.

This was a debris shelter my son and I built there way off the trail.
