Hello! I am in the process of finishing my tactical tomahawk book - looking for a good, hi quality pic of the Hayes (Wally, not Montana) collaboration. Wally has not answered any of my e-mails. Also need detail of the construction, size, materials etc.

Thanks!!!

Dave

Is this a poor joke?
Why should one write a book about something he/she has no personal experience with?
I would understand if you don't have a digital camera, but it is difficult to believe you are actually intending to write in "your book" about the construction, size, material etc. of a thing you didn't even handle.

Authorship even today is more than just a simple copy-paste from internet forums.

If I were you, I would simply state in the book, that the maker you requested for information/sample did not answer your request.

Thanks for your advise. I am happy to say that most of the content of the book is either from my collection or has been loaned to me for evaluation. It would be unfortunate if I could not fill out the content as well as possible with at least a basic description and picture. Thats my opinion. I have done a heck of a lot to procure and review the content of my book.

Knuckleduster, if you read carefully post, I did not question your whole book and I did not imply copy-pasting for the whole book. That is why I suggested you state simply the plain fact in your book.

Had I thought you copy-pasted the whole book, I would have questioned the whole idea of such a book.

I am sorry if I came through very confrontational.
That was not my intent.

Maybe some forumite can lend you or rent you a hawk for evaluation. The main value of your book would be that all hawks were evaluated by the same person and according to the same guidelines. Of course no evaluation is needed, if the book is intended to be a coffe table album or a catalog with nice pictures.

No problem. The book is not exactly a close scrutiny of each piece, it is really to showcase them and some of the traditional ones to show what is available today. I am far to biased to give a good evalutaion, or rank them. The book is meant as an introduction to whet appetites for the wonderful world of tomahawks past and present.

K-Duster, I fully expect to see a link or something to your book when it's done! Sounds interesting. Can we get something of a preview? Maybe the Table of Contents or something? :D

The sad part is that after it is done and sent to the publisher, it will take months to see daylight. I will do my best to update everyone when there is some news. It has taken far longer then I thought due to all the new cool examples coming out.

Thanks!

Dave

Hi Dave, When you emailed me I was swammped getting ready for Blade show and at the moment I don't have a pro pic of the hawk.
I will look around and ask some of the guys when I am in New York for the show. Hope to help you out.
Cheers, Wally Hayes

I saw one of these online at a dealer today for $600USD. It was very tempting but can't pull the trigger, if I did I might as well as pointed it at my own head when the wife found.

Dave...I just e-mailed you some good pics of the limited edition version with Ray Skin Wrap as well as the milled Tsuka Combat Edition....please feel free to upload them here when you can.

Wyrm, could you PM the details?

The Wally Hayes Edition had some very cool features...

The most noticable was the long beard.

On the Combat Edition, we milled what we called a Tsuka pattern into the Acetal handle...and on a limited number, Wally wrapped the handle with ray skin, like a sword. They were totally sweet.

Steel was 01.

Are these beings old on ATC andy and if so how much are they going for? I really like the new design man.
