As you know, Wally is a long time Mastersmith, his Tsunami Wakizashis represent one of the best values in a traditional, forged Japanese sword, truly a $2,000 Wakizashi, superbly made, that sells for a lot less than it should. These sold out at $900, I have a feeling, to order one from Wally today, would run you quite a bit more.
This short sword is in dead mint condition, and has never cut so much as a hair.
This Waki has one of the most vivid, well executed Hamons I have run across, in the traditional Gunome pattern, the handle is cord over ray skin, with a carved, sterling silver dragon menuki. The blade is razor sharp, perfectly ground and finished, and, is not the "Americanized" angular Tanto tip, rather, the more authentic upswept tip and double ground with a zero ground edge.
The scabbard or Saya, is black, with laquer sides, wood lined, with a form fitted kydex retaining throat. Blade glides effortlessly in and out, but locks in securely once inserted to the guard.
The only reason I am parting with it is, there is a knife that was offered to me that I just have to have, so, something had to go, and it had to be something easy to sell.
Keep in mind, this is not a small knife! Insured, Priority shipping will cost me at least $25, maybe $30, so, get this flawless Waki, by one of the top Mastersmiths, for $875 including insured, Priority shipping. That's a fair and firm price.
If you want to use PayPal, that's fine, but, please add the 3%, or $25. Otherwise, a US postal MO is preferred.
First to email me and say the magic words: "I'll take it!" gets it at this price.
Here are pics, thanks for looking!
