Wally Hayes KATANA video

Thanks for posting this Sam. I am going to start working on my first now and its interesting how much you can catch from just that preview.

Get the video, failures are expensive knowledge is ALWAYS cheap :D

Oh yeah, I have no affiliation to Wally blah blah blah it's just a good movie I wholeheartedly recommend.

Wally is a good friend, great maker and a humble guy. I was learning from him for months before he even mentioned that video. I later found out that he has made a couple others, too.

I got the DVD on amazon ages ago. I think it was second hand but I paid very little for it and wasnt expecting much as it was more of a spontainious purchase when I was buying something else.

I was suprised. Its a great video and very helpfull for all aspects of bladesmithing and perfect for someone who wants a high quality handmade sword but doesnt want to pay loads or doesnt have access to hundreds of specialist tools. I got some great ideas from it and although I have never made a katana it was well worth watching.

Does the magic cut file he recommended cut on both the push and the pull? It seemed to the way he was using it but I am not sure it it just looked that way on the video. Thanks

FYI... That is Wally playing guitar on the soundtrack.... with Brent Beshara on drums!
