Wally World Tins

I just cruised one of the local wallies and picked up a few of the 110's and a couple of the 300 series tins.

Had a semi shock on one 300 series tin. The small knife had a 2006 year stamp plain as day. Etch on the blade had the Collectors Edition 2007 words. Makes me wonder how a 2006 knife got mixed in.

Kinda wish I had of gone ahead and got it also, but didn't. Someone someday will have a unique 375.

Every 110 I looked at had a lot of crud around the tang. Looks like a hurried up job to get them packed. But it should clean off just fine when opened up.

I went through what was left and cherry picked the better looking handles.

Yup,,,they were $30 plus tax, and from what the display would have held, only a little over half left. they wern't there 4 or 5 days ago, so are going fast.

I noticed that "crud" also but I assumed that it was the mirror finish that was worn off from opening and closing it before packing so I didn't get any. Has anyone opened theirs to see if it comes off?

The crud is just buffing compound. It takes alot of buffing to get that mirror finish on a blade. Fit & finish are perfect on my 110. The best deal on a 110...or any knife, for that matter

I stopped in at the local Wally World today - no Buck tins. But they did have the Remington and Winchester holiday sets out on display. I passed.

(But as long as I was there, I decided to get a new shower curtain. Now, when I'm in the reading room, browsing through Vintage Motorsport, I like to have some cool shower curtain in my peripheral vision...right now, I have dinosaurs...so I thought I'd get something new...but, nooooo, Wally World has only one "scene", and it's lighthouses...all the rest are patterns, not scenes...now I don't ask for much in this world, but I'd like a nice surreal scene for my shower curtain...is that too much to ask???) :grumpy:
