Walmart Knife Selection

The original post has a photo of of a pegboard with blister packs.
The OP mentions no more cabinet, just blister packs.

Seemed pretty on topic.

I am merely presenting a contrasting opinion to yours with an actual explanation. I am trying to help other participants in the thread understand why such a change was made. Other people mentioned lack of sales staff and loss prevention issues so I tried to tie it all together.

I won't link to them here, but a quick google search will turn up blister pack opening devices such as OpenX, Package Shark, the Zipit. A rotary bladed can opener will work as well. (Not an endorsement of any of those products).

I do generally find the Spyderco Cricket to be pretty effective and controllable to open blister packs.

You're "mere contrasting opinion" didn't need to start with this.

Josh K, you should really step outside yourself an maybe take a look again at your initial posts in this thread. If you can't tell how trollish they look, you are clearly not nearly as intelligent as you like to represent yourself to be.

I probably should have explained that a bit better, that was to help you understand why people react to your posts the way they tend to.

Don't want to keep derailing the thread with more of this stuff so I'll add to this one. (Sorry Kdarmy.)

My point about the initial posts was that short negative posts with no explanation are easily misinterpreted and generally look antagonistic.

Or maybe it's because they don't actually read what I wrote, and instead read what they think I wrote.

I start with:
Blister packs are also garbage.

People shouldn't go to Wal-Mart to buy knives, go to a true sporting goods store like Cabela's or Jay's.

And it turns into
JoshK, just because they come in a blister pack doesn't make them crap, it's the same as the boxed version, in different packaging. If I can go to Walmart, and get a knife in blister pack, or get the same knife boxed for 30% more at Cabelas, I will buy it at Walmart.

JoshK, so just because they don't stock Spyderco makes them bad? Your beef was that Spydercos are only available there "once in a blue moon."

 It's like he's not actually getting it.

There you go, selective quoting that misses the point. You said that blister packs suck, go to a B&M instead, and that the selection sucks. You fail to mention the part where your beef was that there was a poor Kershaw (which you don't like, rendering that statement moot) and Spyderco having poor selections.
So your complaint was: no Spydercos, all of it comes in blister packs.
So don't even try to pull the "my hands are clean, you guys are the troll" speech where you criticize grammar rather than posting with any pertinence to the topic at hand. Don't try and pull that card to try and makes us look like the trolls.

Unfortunately for you those are direct quotes.

Spyderco having poor selections.

How is the point moot just because I don't like a particular brand? If a car dealer had three GM trucks, two Hondas, and no Fords, would I be remiss for saying they have a poor selection even though I dislike GM and like Fords?

So your complaint was: no Spydercos, all of it comes in blister packs.

Not my complaint. You're twisting what I said and how I feel about certain companies.

So don't even try to pull the "my hands are clean, you guys are the troll" speech where you criticize grammar rather than posting with any pertinence to the topic at hand. Don't try and pull that card to try and makes us look like the trolls.

Just washed actually, very clean. The whole "pull that card" bit is getting old. Find a different figure of speech.

You lead off with assuming something I didn't say or mean, then tracked off onto "well this is what you really meant," completely ignoring my reply, finally you melt down and start this "your hands aren't clean" thing.

Selective quoting means only quoting what makes you look better, not altering the quotes, learn to analyze the words.

I've used the clean hands a couple times. I tell you what, I'll give you a dollar for every time I use that, and you owe me a dollar for everyone you've recommended the Spyderco Military, we will see who has said each phrase the most, sound like a deal?

Once again, you resort to belittling remarks, maybe you should get a new tactic, as they've proven to be ineffective.

So now you're comparing using the same figure of speech over and over to what knives I recommend? Can you possibly get more off topic?

Instead of facing my reply, you throw smoke and whine because you feel hurt. I mean the least you could do is stop traipsing around the issuing and actually come up with something reasonable.

You're telling me that my phrase "my hands are clean" to describe you is overused, yet the phrase "Military  " has been used more times than I can count.

Give it a rest, whenever someone contradicts you, you bash them and resort to belittling comments, I hope you realize that most people respond to you harshly because of that. Nobody enjoys dealing with somebody who is always trying to beat them down. Maybe one day you will understand that.

Problem with "Military." ?

You're not contradicting me, you're running yourself into a circle. How else do you explain jumping from your ill conceived conclusion to another, completely off topic-and still remarkably inaccurate-conclusion that I dislike them because they don't carry Spyderco knives?

Either back up what you write, or leave. I stand solidly behind what I say. I fear you can't say the same.

I'll back up what I have to say. You've run more circles than anyone.

I'm afraid that the only thing that you are consistent in anymore is your infatuation with belittling everyone and treating them like sub par human beings. You try to point out bad grammar to make them look stupid and incoherant, to me, that's inexcusable and disrespectful. Just because someone doesn't share an opinion with you doesn't give you the right to belittling them and act disrespectfully.
But of course my opinion is wrong, because you always claim it is.

And you still can't explain your constant leap of topic.

Back on the "I'm belittling you" and "I'm treating you unfairly" tack.

You didn't present an opinion. You argued about what I meant and interpreted it wrongly. I pointed it out to you twice.

What happened to this?

... Facepalm ...
I'm done, Walmart has a decent selection, blister packs are fine if you have the correct equipment to open them, you are incapable of accpeting other peoples opinions, my grammar is fine, if you had to type on a touch screen you wouldn't be as picky about grammar either.
I'm done with playing games with you, unless I agree with you, you go on a belittling rant, using smoke and mirrors, just so can feel good about yourself.
And that about sums it up.

I was done, until you dragged me back in. I quit, but you started with the belittling tactics again.
I don't think you're treating me unfairly, because being the bully doesn't make you a bigger person, it makes you a coward, you just need to realize that when you have to resort to correcting grammar, you are being childish, and for someone who claims to be the "reasonable one" in the arguement, it seems self contradictory.

Didn't mean to "drag" you back in. I was simply pointing out something after I felt obliged to reply.

Why don't you two take it to email? I'm tired reading reported posts from this little battle of the wee little minds. If it doesn't stop IMMEDIATELY infractions are going to be handed out.

So what you guys are saying, is that Walmart does more damage than anyone to the economy? And the jobs Walmart provides, shouldn't be provided? I'd like you to go to your local Walmart and tell all the employees you would rather have them jobless, tell me how it works out for you.

Yeah...because if Walmart wasn't there no business would be there. [/sarcasm]

You have to think and see the big picture.

The big picture is that Walmart occupies a niche market of offering everything the consumer wants, at an affordable price. No other store that I've ever seen offer groceries, electronics, sporting goods, and clothing in the same place. Their stuff is inexpensive, but for some people, Walmart is the only affordable way to purchase what you need.
I'm not sure if you've experienced poverty, but if it weren't for Walmart, many people wouldn't be able to afford to put food on the table, because no major clothing retailer offers $3 t-shirts or $5 jeans like Walmart does.
I'm no sure what your thought process is, but IMO, offering affordable products to those who are less than lucky is never a bad thing.

I guess my warning to you all went RIGHT over your heads. This thread is locked. If you still feel the need to argue like old women take it to email.
