Does anyone have experience with Walmart's Online Marketplace? Long story short I purchased from a seller there, received a different item, Walmart says I have to deal with the seller, and the seller is AWOL. PayPal also has refused to do anything after reviewing the situation, I'm considering one more dispute or just going for a charge back.

Needless to say this is the last time I purchase there, it was just a reasonably good deal that turned out to be too good, apparently.

Was it for a Spyderco street beat? I've emailed that seller 3 times and called 4 times...no response.

What was PayPal's reasoning to refuse to do anything about a SNAD item? (Sent, Not As Described). Chargeback is your option if you had paid using a credit card but if you feel to disclose PP's reasons, that'd be very helpful.

I ordered a micarta & received the BBK version. Called & explained the issue and they emailed me a return label same day.

Hot damn yes it was. So I'm not alone. Is your seller The Roost Sports too?

Here's what went down when I contacted PP : they contacted Walmart, Walmart gave them the standard "go here to initiate returns from online purchases" so PayPal said send it back to them. Only thing is, the link did not provide a shipping address, and Walmart explicitly states it will not accept returns from marketplace sellers and that I have to contact the seller (which I did previously, and who was MIA: no response). So I contacted PayPal again and told them that they didn't supply an address and I want to be sure I can send them a marketplace item because I don't want to ship the knife and them reject my refund. So PayPal escalates the ticket and gives Walmart 3 days to respond. I never hear of a response because earlier today PayPal said I didn't ship it back so they're closing the ticket (which is bull, the person I spoke to I told that I did not receive a return address).

I guess I wanted to see if anyone knows if it'd be worth appealing again, otherwise I'll go straight to my card and charge back PayPal.

Wow! So Walmart provides the platform yet takes no responsibility? Sounds about right.

This is exactly the case after I asked the OP to explain as to why PP had purportedly refused to protect the buyer!

A good teaching moment: if the company which provides third party sellers platform is dubiously inefficient itself in some of its own practices, when a third part seller either willingly or unwittingly obfuscates on return requests, this is the kinda case one would end up with when dealing with PP. So if you have a CC rather than cash in your PP account, just directly pay using that CC through most platforms where third party retailers are involved.

BFC transactions are a different case to the above because the Exchanges are by and large mostly populated by community members where PP provides a very convenient and practical payment conduit from the buyer to the seller.

lieferung lieferung , Sorry about your hastle, but this fiasco has been very informative for me. Apparently I need to be more judicious about when I use PayPal.

I see lots of large retailers offering good prices, but very little CS or recourse.
Many products sold have notices stating if there is a problem do not return to the store......deal with manufacturer. That sounds like fun.
Price should not be the only variable considered when buying.

The same exact thing happened to me a while back, except with Amazon. I received the wrong item, seller never responds to emails.

I filed an A-to-Z claim with Amazon, got my money refunded that same day, and got to keep the (wrong) item. That's how CS should work.

Amazon has always given me good service. I've never dealt with PayPal on a dispute before so this is rather disappointing. I'll be going to my card company next.

Someone finally picked up the phone yesterday and emailed me the UPS return label.

I generally use PayPal charged to my CC. I believe (??) this gives me double protection. Am I wrong?

PayPal can elect to drop a customer who causes them loss. I'm not saying that they do this every time when someone's to play the PP / CC double jeopardy game to put things right, but at least you've gotta be aware of such possible outcome.

If I understand you correctly, if PayPal doesn't fix a problem and I get my CC issuer to fix it then PayPal may drop me. If that were to happen, I guess I wouldn't care since my opinion of PayPal would have sunk VERY low. :(

Take the time to read all the fine print in their TOS. There are may trepidations hidden therein. By and large, it's a very convenient way of transacting online but when snag arise, buyers / sellers beware and know the rules.

Only thing regarding ambiguous return situations like this: since PP is currently offering a 180 claim period, do not rush into returning something unless you have an RMA and instructions where to return to. Just my 2 C's.
