I recently saw a Native for $40 at walmart. Is there any difference between these and the Natives around the net for $60+?

thanks
Luke

Welcome to Bladeforums LFree.

If you search on Native or Walmart in the Spyderco Forum, you'll find hundreds of posts on the topic.

You'll also find lots of experiences shared in the Knive Reviews and Testing forum here as well. One in particular, that is pretty comprehensive is here:

There are other reviews you can find as well.

The Walmart Native is not an inferior knife, when compared to other Native models.. just different, and well.. also very well priced. I'm no expert on the various models of Natives offered, but if you search enough here, and/or on the Spyderco.com Forum.. you'll be sure to find the answers you are looking for.

You don't say?

The Walmart Native is absolutely NO DIFFERENT than any other Spyderco, S30V, Golden, CO, USA, Earth, Native. The BRK Native IS an inferior piece, however, that is not the one Walmart sells. The SS Native (Native II) and the Japan Made Native (Native III) are different from the ones Walmart sells.

The C41 Native offered by Wal-Mart is identical to the FRN handled C41 Native with the S30V blade being offered by other dealers. The only "difference" is that Wal-Mart only offers it only in plain edge, while other dealers may also sell the combo edge and black-bladed combo edge versions.

I broke down and bought one at Wally World the other day. I would say it is pretty much the best 40 dollar knife deal going. S30V steel and Spyderco quality...it is a far better knife than most of the stuff they sell.

No difference at all, but be sure to check a few, I had to try out a couple before I got one without the wiggles. Great knife, I would really like to see Sal and the gang put out a Native with an S30V blade and the Native III style handle.

I can't disagree, as I've found my Native to be an overall decent piece. Had a lot of edge retention and chipping problems out of the box, but after a good couple sharpenings, these seem to be subsiding and this knife is really starting to come into its own.

Hey,
New guy here!
Great EDC!!! Can't think of a better way to spend 40 bucks at Wally World!

I envy you guys.
We can only get Natives at a local knife shop for around US$100.

I've been extremely happy with my Walmart Native. Since then I've added two new Delica 4 (PE and PS). :D
