One of my favorite woods for handle material is walnut. Turkish, claro, curly...I love it. Smells good, durable and looks classic. I scored some absolutely stunning tight curl walnut that came from a violin makers shop and has been stabilized by K&G. Going to use it in a build...stay tuned!

Love what you do with your curly walnut and maple because it still looks like real wood regardless of stabilization (not a big fan of the over-finished stabilized scales that end up looking like plastic).

Trick is to finish no higher than 400-600 grit. Then hand rub with a grey scotchbrite pad.

Here it is all finished.

So much going on with this one. The steel was a limited heat done by Crucible Steel, CPM 10V tool steel between CPM 154 stainless steel polished and etched to darken the tool steel. The handle is exhibition grade curly walnut from a violin repair/makers shop, stabilized by K&G. The design is one I haven't done in a while, called the Pronghorn. Buffalo leather sheath. Available on my website.
