file worked S guard of browned mild steel
browned steel cap with minor file work
stainless ovals with minor file work between blade and guard and after butt cap + nut

Great looking knife!!!!!
I like the way the browned steel guard goes with the ivory, as well as everything else about this knife.
 
One of my favorite knives so far here on BF or anywhere. I don't think I could think of a better design for this style of knife.
 
Thank for all the nice comments. I still need to clean up the hidden tang so it will look good even when it is apart . :)
