Hi Duncan, glad your doing well. I usually go right through the handle and peen the tang over but I couldn't on this one because of the bend in the tusk and the taper. I slighty over drilled then mixed the epoxy with the ivory powder left from drilling. The tang goes 3 1/2 inches into the handle. Should be good to go.

That is an amazing piece of work. I have that same feeling sometimes with knives or materials, getting up the nerve to take something apart or cut it down to size. Once the dirty deed is done, however, you look back and see that it wasn't such a big deal.

I would never attempt something like that with my novice skill level. You did a very good job.
