Hi folks,

I might have the chance to trade a knife for some mamoth and walrus ivory.

The fellow that owns them is an old timer that has had these in his possession
for many years. I'm sure he's had these prior to any ban.

I am not familiar with the regulations for owning walrus ivory and would appreciate
any help on what one would do to own this stuff legally.

Many thanks,
Dana

You just need a letter from him stating that he has owned the items since the 1970's.

The info you need is on this page. http://www.boonetrading.com/Pg18.html The site is also an excellent source for reasonably priced, quality ivory handle material. I have a set of their elephant 1911 grips on my Kimber and they're awesome! Just sent one of their blocks in to Randall, will be getting it back with a blade attached in five years or so :).
