These two knives I am selling for Walt Davis. We have a working relationship and rather than send them back to him and he sell them - I will simply sell them for him.
This is a really cool set that Walt sent me to put pants on. This is his larger Bushcraft knife and a smaller companion knife. This could be used as a Father and Son gift set or worn by the same person as a pair of knives - the larger for camp chores and the smaller for more detailed work.
Both are cut into a traditional bushcrafter style and are very comfortable in the hand; The smaller of the two feeling much larger than its actual size.
These have to be handled to be appreciated fully.
Larger Bushcrafter:
Overall Length: 9 1/4" overall (His larger bushcraft style),
Blade Length: 4 1/4 Inches
Steel Size: 0.111" (essentially 1/8th inch)
Steel Type: 1075
Grind: Convex ground with highly polished double bevel edge. It does not pop hair - it wipes it away
Blade Finish: Highly buffed hand satin finish (almost mirror finished)
Handle Material: Curly Maple (stained red) w/ black liners
Lanyard Tubes: Two in stainless steel
Pins: N/A
Born on Date: in May of 2009 - never seen the field.
Shorter Bushcraft:
Overall Length: 6.900" overall (His larger bushcraft style),
Blade Length: 2.900
Handle Length: 4.00
Steel Size: 0.111" (essentially 1/8th inch)
Steel Type: 1075
Grind: Convex ground with highly polished double bevel edge.
Sheaths:
The sheath is hand made from 8-10 ounce leather. Saddle stitched by hand and colored in Fiebrings USMC black.
The larger sheath has one lanyard tube made of Nickle plated brass and a removable dangler via a Chicago screw at the top. This allows for two types of carry - on the belt or dangling from the belt - and the change can be done in the field with a small flathead or a dime.
The smaller one has a quad carry design. This allows for belt carry horizontal, vertical, cross carry and strong hand carry.
This design also can be carried in a pancake style if you put your belt OVER the knife.
The scrolling on these sheaths are a vine embossing that matches on both sheaths.
The sheath has a stitched firesteel holder (firesteel not included) and holds a 3/8" Firesteel (such as the Light My Fire Firesteel). The firesteel is part of the very thick welt that prevents cutting of the stitches.
Finished to be water resistant and should last the end user a lifetime.
Price: $240 dollars shipped priority.
