This is a really cool set of knives made by Walt Davis. This is his larger Bushcraft knife and a smaller companion knife. This could be used as a Father and Son gift set or worn by the same person as a pair of knives - the larger for camp chores and the smaller for more detailed work.

Both are cut into a traditional bushcrafter style and are very comfortable in the hand; The smaller of the two feeling much larger than its actual size.

These have to be handled to be appreciated fully.

Larger Bushcrafter:

Overall Length: 9 1/4" overall (His larger bushcraft style),
Blade Length: 4 1/4 Inches
Steel Size: 0.111" (essentially 1/8th inch)
Steel Type: 1075
Grind: Convex ground with highly polished double bevel edge. It does not pop hair - it wipes it away
Blade Finish: Highly buffed hand satin finish (almost mirror finished)
Handle Material: Curly Maple w/ red liners
Lanyard Tubes: One in Brass
Pins: Two in Brass.
Born on Date: in May of 2009 - never seen the field.

Sheaths:

The sheath is hand made from 8-10 ounce leather. Saddle stitched by hand, tooled by hand, colored with Fiebrings Tan and Dark Brown very carefully.

The larger sheath has one lanyard tube made of Nickle plated brass and a removable dangler via a Chicago screw at the top. This allows for two types of carry - on the belt or dangling from the belt - and the change can be done in the field with a small flathead or a dime.

The smaller one has a quad carry design. This allows for belt carry horizontal, vertical, cross carry and strong hand carry.

This design also can be carried in a pancake style if you put your belt OVER the knife.

The sheath has a modular firesteel holder that is stitched and has two Chicao Screws to move it from one side of the sheath to the other.

The Firesteel is a matching handle, curly maple, with a brass lanyard tube. It has a firesteel purchased from goingear.com and is a GREAT firesteel!

The sheaths are finished to be water resistant and should last the end user a lifetime.
