As I mentioned in the other thread Walt and I have teamed up to make bushcraft knives and sheaths. I love making sheaths for quality makers like Fiddleback, Walt and all of the others I have made by proxy.

Walt has given me full license for colors, styles, and options. I have been playing with how deep the knife will sit, how thick my welt's need to be, and other little details. I want to offer a lot of options for Walt to choose from in the future.

It has been fun - I hope you guys like the pics:

I will have three cross draw / lefties coming Walt's way with this batch in various carries (dangler, belt loop, dangler option) and various colors of righties as well.

Any comments are welcome - Walt may need to correct any information I have posted.

Nicely done! I can't wait to get 'em back in hand:thumbup: I get the feeling it's going to be hard to let 'em go:D

that red stained birch is easily the best i ahve seen from you walt  really good job on that one. and tal, as always, great work on the sheaths.

Barber,

These handles are the best work I have seen by Walt and his grinds are getting so much better too. The red one is a largers scaled handle that fits my hands VERY nicely. I think the Ebony and Mesquite ones will fit the majority of men very well.

I am enjoying getting better with Walt - every sheath has a few tiny errors that I try to eliminate next time. We seem to be learning together.

Sorry guys, I may have given TF the wrong info, but the striped ones are Curly Maple, not Birch:o They did come out pretty decent, though:foot: It took some doing to get a consistent look with the Maple, but I found a system that works well, and I don't have to use Acid to get a nice pattern. The Red one was wiped with Red Leather Dye, then stained. It's pretty bright in hand, but I wouldn't be ashamed to carry it;)

great looking stuff TF.... the knives and sheaths compliment each other very well...

Nope - I screwed up. Sorry about the birch comment.

To make up for it - I finished the last sheath to send to you Walt - A minimilist lefty. Turned out very well - I would say this sheath represents my best work to date. I experimented with a mid rise belt carry and a drain hole.

Nice! I think that's going to make some southpaw very, very happy:thumbup:

They all look great TF.

 Is it my imagination, or are a lot of these sheaths lefties?

No. I made a miscut (laid the pattern the wrong way!) on two sheaths. I asked Walt if that was a problem - he said it was not - this will give him the option to sell to all customers having these on hand. I will make three of them for him - I am sure that will last a while.

The rest will be righties.

Hey man - letfties have rights too Big Mike!!! ;)

Nope, just figured that the 'lefties' were just 'left' out too often:foot:

Really, since this is the first time TF and I have worked together, it'll be pretty nice to put up the first few with some options. I actually have never had anyone ask for a left-handed sheath, but I'm hoping that this will inspire some of those guys who feel left(:o) out to try a handmade knife:D

I HOPE what you find is that lefties don't buy knives with sheaths that often - or have to buy another sheath because one is not made for them.

I hope that is it...

This thread just proves that any "sexy thang" is twice as sexy in tight fitting leather pants.

TF- You're doing a great job man and the sheaths are just getting better and better.
