Walters axes and hatchets

Seeing Steves pics above, reminded me of one more Walters axe I have - can't believe I forgot -

Here it is closer up =

And here it is on the bathroom wall -

That's the best bathroom decoration I've ever seen, plus it's the perfect defense tool to have when the zombies catch you with your pants down:D:D

Thanks to you all for your replies. Awesome pics. Its at forums like this that we learn so much. I have a small collection, and connection with Walters and their obsolete axes and hatchets. If I knew how to send pictures I would.

I'm not much of a computer guide but you need to upload digital picture files to a host site such as PhotoBucket and then you can attach these files to forum posts. Where are you located, by the way?

I'm not real savy when it comes to computer stuff. I'm located just upriver from you. Renfrew.

Me too! Would have liked to see some sort of swell at the end but otherwise it's a beaut.

Firstly, thank's Agent!

I wish it did as well but it was a warped to sin piece of wood that came as part of a lot I won in an auction, was shaped to fit a boys axe head but had no kerf cut. I'd rather it had a swell too, but heck, I didn't have to carve or buy one.

"Gidday lad! Things are fine right up da line" as they say in the Ottawa Valley. You've gotta find a youngster somewhere to help you on this. My daughters generally roll their eyes when I ask for help or advice but they do get me fixed up.

Blade forum posts can and do show pictures but they have to be hosted by a third party website.

You have to get your pictures from your computer or phone to the third-party host, get them uploaded there, then get the image code link, copy that link, then come to Blade Forums, start a thread or respond to a post, and paste that link there.

I am using Photobucket but there are others. Couldn’t tell you which is the best but some of the hosted pictures from other services contain “hot Asian girl” types of ads when someone clicks on your picture… But then again, maybe that is a perk?

1. Go to photobucket.
2. Make an account. (User name, password, valid email, etc.)
3. Verify account through email.
4. Login to photobucket
5. Make folders for your pictures or simply use “Library”.

At this point you have a photo host.

¿Where are you pictures?
1. On your PC? Go to photobucket and upload to your library by navigating to your pictures and selecting.
2. On your Phone? Download Photobucket app. Set up app, log in, upload pictures.
3. On your Digital Camera? Download your pics to your PC then upload to photobucket.

Depending on your view, you should see a link to the right of your hosted pic.

*after uploading your pictures, copy the url for your picture and past it into a forum response. Photobucket, you simply click the link and it should say something like "link copied".

*use the "go advanced" button on the forum response to preview your post after or during creation. Proofread, submit post.

*Save your “library” in your favorites in your browser and click the “keep me signed in” for quicker access.

Once they are hosted on a third-party website they stay there for your reference.

Hope that helps!

Halfaxe describe to me what a Hudson's Bay axe is please?

Post #17 in this thread shows a "Hudson Bay" pattern. They're iconic in trading post Rupert's Land/Upper & Lower Canada historical context and modern versions still sell like hotcakes. Check out Swedish Wetterlings lineup for their version and Council Tools USA for theirs.

That's out of my league. But thanks anyway Agent. I just enjoy looking at all the pictures and listening to the stories. As I said previously l have a small collection, and connection. At any garage sale or flea market I keep my eyes open. I do not use my Walters axes, but I do like having my " Oxeheads" close by.

I believe I have one of those.Original handle. 30 1/2 " Most of the original paint and label. Black Diamond. It's a stout little guy.

In the picture, if that's your Peavey-made, 4th from the right, then I can see why the attraction to those. Obvious improvement over most HB versions, without losing that iconic HB look.

The Peavey is on the far right.
