It's nothing special but I think I am going to be pretty happy with it.

1 - Harbor Freight belt sander

1 - Central Electric bench grinder

1 - Set of paper wheels from Steve Bottorff

Grinding belts from Lee Valley (Hope grinding belts is the right thing and not the sanding belts.)

1 - 180 Aluminum Oxide Grinding Belt

1 - 320 Aluminum Oxide Grinding Belt

1 - 500 Aluminum Oxide Grinding Belt

1 - 1200 Aluminum Oxide Grinding Belt

2 - 15 Micron Silicon Carbide Sharpening Belts

I may get the leather belt from Lee Valley later but I expect my paper wheels to eliminate the need for that.

Also, I will be mounting the belt sander so that the usable belt surface is horizontal.

Wish me luck.

Anyone have any good advice?

Looks like you will be busy for a while. Let us know how the sander belts work out.

My 8 year old son brought my my first two jobs tonight.

His machete needs to be profiled and sharpened. Actually, it's my machete. I saw it lying on the road first. But he claims he needs it worse then I do.

And then he brought me a little old screwdriver. He wants the tip ground to a sharp point to make an awl. He has some leather scraps he is messing around with.

Picked up my belt sander and bench grinder at Harbor Freight today. The bench grinder was on sale.

Steve and Lee valley shipped out my stuff today.

Life is good.
