Hello all. I think this is the correct category for this. I have limited time...a fulltime and a part time job, plus I have been customizing knives and making sheaths in my spare time. I have a small backlog of orders, and no time to grind. Is there a maker here who specializes in making fully ground, heat treated blanks in 1095, 1080+, 1084 and/or similar steels? I realize heat treat is more involved in 1095, and I really don't have a market for stainless steels due to how I decorate and alter them.
I would provide the blank specs in paint stick form, cardboard, .jpeg, .img, or ??? Would start with 4 blanks, then probably two a week based on my backlog. Grind would be flat, and saber. I don't have much use for hollow or convex, due to the way I decorate. Probably not any stick tang either. Also looking for a 26" straight sword blank made out of 1084.
If anyone knows anyone, I would appreciate it.
Brief recap:
Completely heat treated and tempered.
Flat or saber grind.
Mostly bowie and hunter type.
3/16" thick minimum.
Wooden template/drawings to actual size provided.
Starting March 1st.
