Want to buy myself a beast of a knife.

Hello,

Over the last few years Ive been getting larger and larger folders. In order I went from a Manix2, Para2, Endura FFG, digital Military, black Military, ZT300, and the latest is a Ti Military. I really enjoy the larger blades. Those aren't the only knives I own but I just dont carry the smaller knives in my collection much anymore. Ive looked at a bunch of plus size folders, 4 inch and larger but I want something a little different. The Medford TFF-1 is at the top of my list. Anyone have experience with it? Im not going to beat it up or do anything crazy with it, I just like overbuilt folders. Is it unpractical for everyday use? Any other overbuilt folders in the 4 inch and larger range I should look at? I want something semi custom and not from one of the big knife companies. $600 is my max. The Grayman Satu and Strider SMF are also on my mind.

Holey crap! The length of that closed is huge! I wonder if that pocket clip even engages with the pocket, a pocket isn't that deep is it?

He's already gotten the 0300 but I like where your head is at. Love my ZTs.

Without having owned one myself I find it a bit difficult to suggest, but perhaps a SMF. You mentioned it was on your mind, its worth a shot. The benefit of knives in that price range is if you find out that you don't like it you can always get your money back in a sale or trade for something similar. Best of luck!

Hey no kidding, but the number 13 opi is a great knife. There's a guy on YouTube that does some machete work and splits wood with a number 13 Opinel. He wacks the ever loving hell out of it, and it takes it. Great heavy duty bushwhacker.
 
I like big folders and this one just landed in my pocket last week.

Its between the Medford TFF-1 and the Crusader Forge FIFP. I emailed Medford and its a 12-16 week wait, Crusader hasn't emailed me back yet...
