Want to go NUTS?...figure THIS out.

Sounds to me like loctite is on the joint.

That would explain why so far no chemicals worked, only hot water.(heat being the ONLY thing that loosens it)

Did you ever put loctite on it?
 
I.....think......it's settling in. Working pretty good and getting better.
Might have been one last grit. Leaving well enough alone for now.
This has been IRRITATING!

I may try some incantations just to be sure.

AND if it does it again, I.....promise.....to try the WD40 and soap.

WD-40 by itself will get everything out, and if you shake all of it out, it'll dry away in a day or two. Then, put in some decent oil, and you're good to go.

Is it ok to wash knives in sinks? I mean, won't you get water in crevices where it shouldn't be?
 
You must of course use a KNIFE SINK. Available from Spyderco.
The cold water handle is 30 degrees and the hot is 40.
But it works much better than a KITCHEN sink.
