The angular spine on the Calypso Jr. looks pretty classy, I'll admit that. And the pointy shoulder above the thumb hole, likewise.

HOWEVER: It hurts! I like to be able to push down on the blade spine when cutting tough materials.

I rounded off the spine and the pointy shoulder with a Dremel. Made a great knife even better.

Aesthetics are important, provided that functionality is not impaired. Am I the only one who has complained about the sharp corners on the Calypsos?

Respectfully,
David Rock

The calypso is my favorite spyderco, but I know what you mean about the back of the blade.any chance of you posting a picture of your calypso.I would like to see how it looks.I might try to reshape mine.

Oh, didn't read your post correctly, missed the Jr. part, thought you were working on the large one w/ VG10, DUH.

Brian - The sharp point on the back of the blade is the same on both Calypso & Jr. models. a soft buffing wheel lightly touched to the point works well. We plan on adjusting this in the future. Sorry for the blemish on an "almost perfect" production lockback.
