I think there's also a lot of traditional patterns that use hidden tangs and besides mora or other ones with pure plaaric handles, I can't think of anything with a hidden tang that wouldn't be traditional. I'm sure they're out there but something about hidden tangs exudes traditional construction.
This was my initial idea as well. Desk or EDC sized. They are out for heat treatment as we speak. Some have four finger handles and some three or three and a half, but all have fob holes. I may do a handful of them with modern materials like Suretouch or G10, but my intention is to make most of them decidedly traditional. And I also have more 8670 steel in stock to make other patterns with.

David, I would start by looking at the Randall and Buck patterns especially with stacked leather. Scott Hanson is worth a look for a higher end custom example.
