My grandfather gave me a Bertram brand Canoe slipjoint at some point in my youth, and being a dumb kid I promptly lost it in the mass of clutter we all tend to accumulate. I don't think it's anything very collectible, and even if it were, the round "shield" on one side of the handle is gone, rendering any value moot and leaving a big ugly hole where gunk has gathered. Still, it has sentimental value and I'd like to get the knife cleaned up and start carrying it again.
I'd love to throw some cash and gratitude your way if you're able to:
-Disassemble, clean, and polish the bolsters and blade and give it a good sharpening.
-Rescale the handles from the weird green bone it has with something modern, like linen micarta, G-10, or acrylic. Unique colors and patterns welcome.
The two services above are the main ones I'm looking for, but if you have any other talents, like refinishing, adding a unique shield, or something else exciting, I'd love to see them and would consider adding them on to the basics.
If you're interested, please send me a PM and I will try to respond as fast as possible - I do work long hours and overnights, but I look forward to working with you. Thanks for your time
