Hey knife makers,
This may seem like a strange request, but I'm looking for someone to recreate a production knife as a custom, if that makes sense? I have a SOG Government, which in terms of feel and balance reaches a point of perfection, which so far, no other knife has been able to match. The downside is they're no longer produced, so I'm extremely hesitant to use it the way I'd like to.
So, I was thinking of having a custom knife made to the same specs but with better steel. Has anyone had this done this or think they would be able to do it?
Basically, what I'm after is a knife with the same exact dimensions as a SOG Government, but with a better steel. I was thinking something like 3V with a DLC coat as I live in a high humidity area. I can provide my personal SOG government as a reference and for measurements.
