Received a knife today that was sold to me as NIB. However when opened discovered that it would would flip half way exerting the same force as the new one I bought. Paper test was duller , but what really puzzled me is the difference between the two. Here is the. PictureImageUploadedByTapatalk1400193891.959275.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1400193907.772195.jpg
On the one I just got the part that touches the lock seems polished. Does it happen from lots of flipping. ?
Also second picture if a new one and the one claimed to be NIB . Looks like two different size pivots. Did I get duped ? Thanks in advance .ImageUploadedByTapatalk1400194067.049340.jpg

lol, nope :) I just got it from a Hinderer authorized dealer, changed the scale and sent it your way. Just like advertised :)

You will notice slight differences from XM to XM. The engraving as you noticed to the beveling around the Ti lockside, ect, etc.... I would just loosen the pivot up a little and you should be set amigo.

Looks normal to me :D

Yep, no worries, it looks all good. Enjoy your sweet knives!

Getting my 3rd in a few days. Truly great knives. Thank you again for the help . Especially Dave:))

I will admit, flipping them like pros takes a wee bit of practice and adjusting the pivot EVER so slightly to find that sweet spot that works for you. I can't emphasize enough how slightly you will typically need to adjust them. I do remove the clips when I change scales so the knifes lay flat on my cloth. Way easier to work on that way and protects the clip. If you are going to get into Hinderers (And they are soooooo worth getting into), then I would definitely pickup a tool. I don't go anywhere without mine.

Notice my finger position in this video (Link Below). Don't put your finger on the smooth part of the flipper. The gimping is on the bottom for a reason.

More than likely the pivot is tighter on the one that wouldn't flip as much. Don't notice anything to worry about in the pictures.

There are minor differences between the two I have also. The minor differences (other than the blade grind)make them unique and different enough to appreciate both.

You're welcome! Thanks for getting my name right ;-)

Well Dave I became so curious in different hinderers that I just ordered one from the same place as you did my orange accept blue color. Will definitely compare them when it arrives :)). Will let you know how they differ if at all ! The blue is gone there now!

Kewl! The first XM-24 I received the letters were very faint (Grooves weren't very deep at all). I had another Hinderer where some of the letters had lines connecting them in the "Hinderer". Each has subtle differences, but they are all just amazing knives. Can't wait to get my XM-24 back from the Ranch. Got a bunch of accessories for it in the mail today. Going to be a long month without it, but at least I have my XM-18s to keep me company. :)

Yeah, Jeremy is a great guy to deal with. Have purchased about 6 from him over time.

Xm 24 is a Crocodile Dundee knife :)). Ya they will ship the knife today. Now will be on the hunt for 24 model.

By the way ordered tool from the monkey today for disassembly . What brand of lubricants do you use for this knife if any Dave?

If I put anything on them, I will put a couple drops of Nano lube, but the FDE I have with me today has NOTHING on it and flips like a dream.
