Wanted to buy- 4' bar of Aldo's 1075...

As the title says, I'm looking for a 4' bar of 1075. I'm taking my JS performance test in August and I want to use 1075 for it as it's a steel I'm very familiar with. I thought I had a bunch but it turns out, I don't have any bars big enough. I'd like to make 3 or 4 blades from the same bar to test a couple here before the real deal.

I want the steel to be Aldo's. My first choice would be 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 4'. Second choice would be 5/16" x 1 1/2" x 4'. Would also consider 1/4" x 1 1/4" or 5/16" x 1 1/4"

If anyone has a bar of this they could spare, I'd appreciate it and I would, of course, pay for the bar and shipping. PM me or send me an email if you can help out. Thanks for taking a look.

Let me check my inventory when I get home John. I definitely have some of his 1075 bar stock. most likely in the .312 thickness.

Haha....that was my first thought too. And I did and he didn't have what I needed at the moment. :) Thanks for the thought though.

I have two 1 1/2" sections of Aldo's 1075.

1 is 35 1/2" long and the other is 11" long.

I also have two 1 1/4" sections of it totaling 8 feet

Let me know if you want them

Is this the 5/16" thick stock? I could probably use the 1 1/2" x 35" bar.
 
John, I've got it on pretty good authority that the 1075 from Admiral is the same or very similar. Aldo didn't have any recently when we needed some for the last Intro class at Haywood, so we ordered some from Admiral and it performed equally, has the same color coding, and otherwise indistinguishable in bar form (sizes, etc.)

I wouldn't usually recommend Admiral to anybody, but in this case...

Worst case, I've got a bar of 1.5x1/4 from Aldo you can have.
