Wanting advice on a sharpener

^ That Swiss Istor looks like junk to me. How is one supposed to hold a consistent angle with a contact surface that is tiny and not aligned with the handle of the sharpener?

I'd be amazed if anyone could easily use this device to make a sharp edge. It's so bad I'm surprised someone decided to market it.

Brian.

I was more interested in using the Swiss Istor sharpener for my industrial scissors. Just wanted something small and handy.

I'll keep looking! Thanks for your advise though :)

The Swiss Istor does actually work, but I would not recommend it for any better knife or kitchen knife.
It can very quickly give you a sharp enough knife to cut timber, insulation on wires...etc.
So for a every day working knife that a tradesman like an electrician uses, it's great.
Anything more serious and you will be disappointed as it removes metal harshly.
