Wanting Opinions - Ruger P95

P95 is a sweet gun for the money, hard to beat it for the same cash or less. I'd spend a bit more a get a CZ 75B only because it is my fav 9mm and around here you can get a new one for $400-450. For the price I think Ruger and CZ and among the best deals going. The Sig P250 also looks promising.

The P series pistols are big and fairly ugly.

They are however accurate, tough, and nice shooting. Most people that I know that have shot them say they are comfortable to shoot.

I had a P90 (.45acp) and liked it a lot. I just go through pistols...

I just received a NIB Ruger P90 in a trade a few days ago. It's absolutely massive. Considerably heavier than any other pistol I own. Looks to be well made and robust, but certainly not a carry piece unless you really don't care about the weight. It would make a nice house or truck gun though.

If you join the GSSF ($35) then you can purchase a new glock with 3 mags for $425. I like ruger revolvers and own a few, but I've always found their semi autos to be wanting, either in the accuracy, ergos, or lately, reliability.

go to a local practical shooting competition IDPA or USPSA and see what is being used...game players have done most of the R&D for manufacurers wanting to get into the personal defensive pistol market...while price is typically not a consideration, pistols used by USPSA Production class shooters are in your price range

I'm a huge Ruger fan and own many Ruger handguns. For a reliable 9mm I would recomend a used Glock or Beretta. I have seen both at recent shows for less than $400.

I have a P95DC. It is reliable and accurate. You can't go wrong with a P95.
