'WAR BOAR' is in the house...

Ok Progunner, you know the more I learn about knives the more all I care about is quality. Just to give you an example, I bought a little lone wolf Loveless slipjoint folder called a city knife. I thought I was buying quality but the thing has a weak as heck backspring and the point of the knife had grinder burn! Can you believe that? With all the post I see here about quality I just keep moving more along the lines to where you guys are.

That is disappointing when you don't get what you expect. Knives like anything else man made can sometimes have imperfections. The difference is how quick the maker is to fix the blade to make you happy with it, should you find it less than what you expected. I honestly haven't had a single blade from Busse that I wasn't happy with as far as quality and execution is concerned. It only take one to start you down the path of our madness though, so be forwarned.

Apologies to Daniel for half arsed hijacking his thread by the way. Let's see you ripping some stuff apart with her man!!!!!!! When mine get here I am making sheaths and they are getting used.

how many did you get?
Planning on running through the woods like Cobalt, brandishing your raptor claws?

And nice WB, Galaxytech!

yep,,I ordered mine when they were first posted,,

I like the gray finish because it is the closest "looking" to double cut than any of the other finishes,,, but i would love to see one of these in Snakeskin/Satin finish:eek:
I told you that you would love it!!!! I was so sad to have to send it to you, I just liked looking at it..........Very cool !!!!!!!

Very good, I really like the handle.
To bad its not leagle in Germany.
I could carry a 3 foot long Busse leagally but the WAR BOAR is illegal.
Whatever sence that makes.

What size is that hole? Thanks.

that is the small hole..

it looks a little big with my pinky in it,,,but it is a perfect fit to my index finger:thumbup:

That's a great personal safety knife. I can see the possibilities here for other uses aswell like cutting open cartons and other stuborn materials.

Leatherman that would an expensive leather cutter. But I think the key word was "similar". Look I wont spoil your fun. I know this is a fan club. But my point is the warboar is more of a toy than a useful knife.
Leatherworking is my livelihood so I try to get the best possible tools for my work, and some of them are shockingly expensive. I have three of what would boil down as glorified hammers (leather mauls) average price for those is 130.00. Several swivell knives at nearly 100. I'd not want to add up what I have in tooling supplies  On to cutting tools, knives, clippers, some custom made, dont wanna know. I dropped 400.00 in leather last week. Then the coup de gras, a 1200.00 leather stitcher recently, so no, a 3-400.00 knife isnt a major expense for the shop. :o

As 'gunnner so eloquently mentioned, we dont jump naysayers, we convert them. :D You might be thinking of another group who's name is not said aloud, no its not Voldemort. he isnt quite that evil....:p :p

i dont actually make money at any of my personal endeavors, but just to be able to accomplish what i want requires some pretty rediculous expendatures. my rockwell tester was 200+350$ shipping, wich would have been 1500$ new. i have a 1200$ electrolosis machine that should have been 1850 new, and a 2,000$ pfaff sewing machine. my victor torch set isnt even their high end set and it was still 450$ (oxy-acetylene). i look back and wonder how the heck i was able to afford it back then. i know i couldnt safely afford it now... but, you buy the tools you need for the quality of work you wish to produce. you can often do with less, but it takes more time and effort, and there comes a point at wich you just cant use certain grades of tools to do what you want becuase the results will not be of a high enough quality.

using harbour freight belt sanders for finishing bevels = :(

I just wanted to drop in and say that I have become very interested in Busse knives and I plan to start acquire several as I get to know the models and which will fit into the way I use knives.

I tend to like the smaller fixed blades (6-7 inches or less) and I should have a Three Finger arriving here soon.

Regards,
Tony

Spydieopath, Welcome to the world of BUSSE COMBAT!!! My signature use to say "Love Dem Spydie's", then it said "Love Dem Spydie's & Busse's", now it says "Love Dem Busse's & Spydies". I collected exclusively Spyderco for years, and have a very extensive collection and they are excellent knives. Then I discovered Busse and my knife collecting completely changed. There is no better fixed blade in the world, in my opinion, than a Busse, and hopefully they will be joined with one of the top folders! Maybe 2 weeks!!! I have been a BUSSEOPATH for 6 years now!!! Again, hang around our forums and meet some of the HOGS.

Thanks for the welcome Ronybear,

You have me rethinking the "Spydeopath" thing and I'll have to work on a new name. I took that from a bike shop I saw years ago called "Cycle-path".

And if I don't get my butt out on a bike and ride soon I will be a HOG.

Tony

P.S. I will generally be more respectful of the thread topics than this.
