War Hammer haft material

Done with prototype

I'm gonna slap the handle back in the lathe and turn it down more, it's 1.25" now. I knock an 1/8 off and see what that does. If I need to I'll bring it down to 1" diameter

The final diameter that I settle on will get knurled

It's going to get turned narrower and then knurled for a handle

This was more base prototype to modify after I mess with it a little

Also thinking about a pommel of some sort, just need to figure out what I want for it, most likely just a chunk of stainless steel turned round and threaded (I'll tap the handle, maybe even set the handle up to be able to be extended, but not certain on that)

What will be the final weight?
In Home Despot I was trying a few different lengths and weights.
The one which felt light enough to be fast but still pack a punch was a 14oz head with 16inch length down to the pommel and probably a total weight of 18oz.
Interestingly the upper handle was quite thin but wide. Just like a blade. It also had a fuller for weight reduction.
This seems to be the one.

Final weight of the head is around 1.25 pounds,
I haven't knurled he handle yet, I'm on vacation and won't be able to for a bit
