War Train coundown..

Guizzz i just thought of another use for the WTF...polish her up and use her as a mirror!

On another note...if you swung it at someone, all polished up and pretty, the last thing they would see is the terror on their own face!:eek:

I don't know about terror, but they will see what Infi looks like in SATIN!!

Personally, I think if scary looking is what your after..a stripped battle grade WTF with light rust an stain marks all over it but a mirror shiny edge would be wicked mean looking..

I should have got in on the WTF.....I got the WTH.....hesitating will do that to ya.....haha.

Some of my inlaws family were thinking its crazy big when they saw NMFSH on the outing, i cant imagine how they"d react to a WTF lol

When my high school guidance counselor asked me what I wanted to be......I told him I wanted to be a mountain man. He said that was all well and good, but that most people had to have a real PAYING JOB like banker, lawyer etc. Then they could have a second non-paying job like inventor, or humanitarian just for fun. That way a fella could say he was a DOCTOR -SLASH- HUMANITARIAN.

Now, this guy was a mustache chewer. So I let him gnaw on it while I give it a good think over.

After a bit, he says, "Um.....ahhhh..... does that give you any ideas?"

So I said that it did. And he asks what ideas did it give me.

So I told him,"Would it be ok if I could be a MOUNTAIN MAN - SLASH - FUR TRAPPER?"

He says he did not think a guy could make any real money doing those things.

I had to correct him since he wore a tie and was from the flatlands, so I says, Jeez man! A muskrat pelt will get $3.00 a pelt! Put that in your pipe for real money!"

Anyhow, point is, having trained and outfitted fot the high mountains at the tender age of 13, I can appreciate a knife with a bit of heft.

Bring it.

Thanks Timmy! True story. Later I learned he wrote UNDECIDED " on my transcript. Go figger.

One of the things that havery always intrigued me is how much a person's geographic location influences edged tool selection.

For instance, we live in the High Desert on the edge of the Buffalo Commons. Native peoples range from Crow to Northern Cheyenne, and Shoshone to Lakota. April thru September we can do everything with a big knife, and a Leatherman (If you like Gerber or some other that's fine. Mr. Leatherman is a personal hero, so that is what I use. October thruger March we carry a small ax or hand ax in the 2 to 3 lb range. As a personal preference my small axes generally have a slightly longer handle than usual.

Another thing that truly bothers me is how many times a person reveals their knowledge of woodsmanship, or lack thereof, in their choice of tools.

Odds are slim that I ever find myself in the serious jungle, the machete replace the big knife.

That is my long opinion. I would really enjoy hearing other guys' thoughts on this. Will anybody make it their only GO-TO blade?
