Warehouse monkey

Consider a Boker Wharcom. Very similar in blade shape to a box cutter so it'll be effective and won't draw too many heads.

I also work ina warehouse and have to chew up boxes, zip ties, electrical cabling, tape, etc. I've used a PE Delica for a couple of years now. I've tried other knives from time to time, but I always come back to the D4.

It's a simple, sturdy design that can take some abuse. I've dropped mine onto the concrete floor more than once with no ill effects to handle, lock, or blade. I've run it into brass staples that I didn't see and the blade (VG-10) has hit the steel rack posts on a couple of occasions. No harm done.

I'm using a ZDP-189 D4 right now, but the next one I buy as a backup will be a VG-10 D4. I rebeveled my first one to about 10 dps for the back bevel and gave it a 15 dps micro bevel. It slices about as well as my Caly 3.

One of the handiest smaller knives I've ever owned was the Kershaw Scallion.

Spyderco Delica 4 Wave - one handed opening that's faster than a switchblade, but it's not a switchblade.

Benchmade Mini-Griptillian D2 (Cabela's) very fast one hand opening and closing. Tool steel blade will keep its edge longer.
