I have a TAD gear Wt Canyon ring fighter , It's a great knife but I recieved it without a sharp edge on it, it is titanium, chisel grind, carbon fiber laminated with a carbide edge, should I try to sharpen this myself or am I better off asking a pro to do it?
The way you received the knife is as sharp as it gets. Titanium does not hold an edge, The carbide is added to give the knife some cutting ability. Warren can recondition the edge for you with new carbide but it won't be sharp.
Knives in these configurations were not meant to be an EDC. But more like a survival knife or last ditch situation type knife.
Light weight and can't be detected by metal detectors. However, the Xray will find them.
WWG, i am not sure that I agree...I have a WT and have handled quite a few others and they seemed sharp to me...the carbide also gives it a nice "micro serrations" feel...I sure wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of one!
