From your description of the handle, perhaps you mean this one, which is a desk dagger, about 11 3/4" long, with a 24k gold bead in each of the 100+ rosettes in the black marble handle, with amethyst in pommel (image by me):

Julie Warenski is responsible for all that fluting and the carving of the rosettes, and of course, all of the engraving and jewel setting. Circa 1993 as I recall.
