Warm Sock

I dont have an issue finding warm socks, i do have an issue with them lasting though. I can wear a hole in even the toughest of socks with kevlar weaving on the heels.

Does that happen with all of your footwear? Just curious if it is a fit problem.

does'nt matter if its my dress shoes, slippers, runners, boots, hiking boots, work boots. Socks are sized properly as are the footwear. I do have callouses on the heel, but heck everybody does.....

Wow, that's unusual. I'm sure you've tried liner socks and anything else I could suggest. Sorry to hear that.

yep got ultra thin polypro liners (these are the cats a:eek::eek: for moisture transfer) and then the normal sock.

I usually just buy a new pair of socks for a hike and toss em when i get back.

I would LOVE to see a THICK polypro sock......for some reason i the polypro is tough stuff, have;nt worn any holes in my liners.....

If you want some nice socks on the cheap, check your local Costco. They sell packs of 3-4 pairs of merino blend socks for something like $10, and while they are not quite as nice as the above brands, they are leagues better than wearing cotton or regular wool socks.

The only socks I will wear, 24 pairs. Wear them daily. They work well and are a cheap price.

Stupid question, but I would guess that the tops of liner socks would have to be above the tops of the outer sock in order to effectively wick away moisture and heat. Is that true?

As long as I don't have numb and tingly toes for the winter, I will buy whatever sock that works. Do you guys ever get frost bite in your toes and the circulation never really returns? What do the experts do about it? I am sure I am not the only one.

God Bless

I have been using "smartwool" socks for a few years. Not only are they warm and comfortable but they last a fair long time. Don't always wear the thickest socks as too tight a fit can impede circulation and cause cold feet.

I wear WigWam Marino wool socks and Sportsmans Warehouse brand Marino Wool socks. I also prefer the thicker ones. As long as I keep my toes trimed they last a long time for me. Been using mine year round.
