Warm socks recommendations

Check out COSTCO. Here in NYC they have wool socks that look very similar to the Thorlo. They were also stocking a heavier weight sock that is more of a hunting length. I have been wearing both for more than 2 years or so and they are holding up just fine.
You can also check out the Sock Co. on the web. I have bought from them and they have been a reputable place to buy from.

So, I started wearing a poly liner under my wool socks - by the way Smartwool are excellent socks and typically wear them. The poly liner pushes the moisture away from my feet and the wool sock is damp but my feet stayed more comfortable and drier. It wasn't perfect but a significant improvement over just a wool sock only.""

I started to wear a poly liner when I was cross country skiing. They really do help to keep feet warm

Another vote for Smartwool. I work on my feet and am very active, these socks last typically 2 years for me.

I have pairs that are 11 years old.

I haven't owned cotton socks for about the same length of time.

Smartwools and merino wool socks that imitate them are my favorite.

Check Walmart - they have lines of thick merino wool socks and mixes for hiking, work etc. that are very affordable.

+1 Just got some there for like $6-$7 a pair....I wanna say they were Wigwam or Woolrich......80% merino wool!!!!

I love my Wigwam wool/silk hikers.

I'm also big on wearing thin liner socks made of polypro under my wool socks.

Combine the fuzzy mocs from walleyworld and a pair of wool socks and your feet will be in a great place. :D

If you have the means, I highly recommend Filson 18'' Merino Wool Socks. I have a pair in all 3 weights and they are unbelievably warm, comfortable, durable and best of all, they will not quit on you.
