SOLD: Warncliff made from 1/8" 1080 steel. Handle is 1/8" natural micarta and is 3 3/4" long. Flat ground blade is 3" from the tip to the scales. Overall length is 6 3/4". Pin & thong tube are stainless. This handle shape is comfy in the hand. I will be making a Kydex sheath for it in the next day or two. This one has my initials stamped on the spine (rather than the ricasso). $SOLD$ (within Canada & USA). PayPal or money order please.

Very nice. That blade shape reminds me of my Case Seahorse Whittler, a beautiful knife and one of my favorite carvers. Those straight edge blades are super easy to keep sharp too!

I do my heat treating in a propane forge. For 1080 I start out by normalizing 3 times. 1st is hotter than non-magnetic, second is just barely above non-magnetic, and 3rd is just below non-magnetic. Then I heat it up to above non-magnetic and quench in vegi oil that is pre-warmed to~120 F (with O1 I soak it for 8 minutes above non-magnetic, but 1080 doesn't need a soak). Then I give it two temper cycles 1 hour each at 400 F. I finish ground the blade and put a hair shaving edge on it - then placed the spine on a block of wood, took a piece of kindling (about 1 1/2" diameter) and beat on the edge 20-30 times - no edge deformation and still shaving sharp. I like to test my blades after heat treating & tempering. I also did the brass rod test to see that the edge would flex and spring back.

Since I don't have fancy heat treating equipment if you buy this knife and use it and are un-happy with it for any reason send it back and I'll refund your money (I'm not scared to stand behind my knives:thumbup
